What are seashells and how are they formed?

What are seashells and how are they formed?
Seashells are the external skeletons of animals living inside the seashore called Mollusks. They are made up of calcium, the same way as our bones are made up of. These skeletons are present on Mollusks externally. So these skeletons protect them from other strong currents, storms and protects from various things. Some mollusks have two outer shells and some will have one.
When these creatures called Mollusks dies, they leave their outer shell and the shell will be washed up by shore. Sometimes these shells can be used by other sea creatures as their homes. Seashells are not organs of mollusks. The shell is actually formed from minerals. But as Mollusks excrete calcium carbonate their shells grow bigger in size. After the death of a Mollusk, these shells become empty as the creature is no more.
Where to find seashells?
Seashells are generally found on seashores. There are many colourful and many types of shells on seashores which vary in sizes. Colours and sizes produced by Mollusks depend on the diets given for them by the seas. Some seas provide more food resources to them, for example: mollusks in warm tropical waters will be provided more and different varieties of food resources when compared to Mollusks in cold water. As a result Warm water mollusks provide more colourful shells while cold water mollusks provide darker and fewer colours. The pattern of these colours depends on the secretion of pigment by Mollusk. You can prepare many seashell decors at home easily. Here are some of the seashell decors you can prepare easily at home by collecting seashells.
Creating seashell decor for your home:
You can prepare a beautiful seashell container by placing all types of shells you have found on a shore, and you can hang out a location tag to the jar with a twine. It is just beautiful
You can prepare many more items like a mini seashell aquarium which requires a rectangular glass box, and seashells. Seashell lights, have you ever tried it? They look too pretty as the shell covers the light and the light reflects over the shell. Take a string with lights and apply epoxy to the edge of a shell, and press them to the base of a light. Repeat the same for all the lights. Dry it for five minutes before you use themSeashell lights are ready to hang. These are some of the cost effective yet awesome seashell decors.
